Over time, this moisture creates the conditions for mold growth, wood damage, and material degradation.
What Humidity Levels Are Safe?
The generally accepted safe range for indoor relative humidity is 40% to 55%. Within this range, mold growth is inhibited, wood flooring and furniture remain stable, and electronics and artwork are protected.
55%–60% RH: Elevated but manageable. Mold risk begins to increase. This is the warning zone.
Above 60% RH: Mold can begin to colonize surfaces within 24 to 48 hours. This is the danger zone for a vacant Florida home.
Above 70% RH: Conditions are highly favorable for rapid mold growth. Structural materials, furniture, and belongings are at serious risk.

However, Wi-Fi can go down, sensors can fail, and an alert on your phone still requires someone local to investigate and act. Smart monitors complement professional home watch — they do not replace it.
